On 24 February, construction on the EU TUMO Convergence Centre for Engineering and Applied Science began in Yerevan, Armenia.
Located in Tumanyan Park, the five-story building will expand the existing TUMO campus, providing new spaces for free technology and creative education for teenagers and adults. The €42.5 million project is funded by TUMO, with a €12.5 million contribution from the European Union.
The TUMO Centre for Creative Technologies is an educational centre for teenagers aged 12 to 18, specialising in technology and design.

The European Union supports TUMO with funding, partnerships, and mentorship programmes that connect Armenia’s young talent with European research and industry experts. These efforts focus on strengthening STEM training, enhancing teacher skills, and promoting student exchanges, which will transform Armenian talent into products and jobs that compete on a global scale.
“Working together, the EU and Armenia can unlock new opportunities for economic growth, create jobs, raise the level of prosperity and improve lives,” said a Facebook post by the EU Delegation to Armenia. “This partnership with TUMO and other local initiatives reflects a shared vision for a prosperous future across Armenia, one that values education, innovation, and growth.”
TUMO has hubs in Yerevan, Dilijan, Koghb, Gyumri, Yeghegnadzor, and Kapan, with 31 TUMO Boxes operating in neighboring towns. Outside Armenia, there are centres in Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Tirana, Berlin, Mannheim, Hirschaid, Lüdenscheid, Coimbra, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, and Gunma.
