The European Film Academy has added a record 709 new members for 2024, including director Jivan Avetisyan (Armenia), director, choreographer, writer, and performer Kosta Karakashyan (Bulgaria), and producer Hasmik Avetisyan (Germany). The membership list also includes Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett.
The European Film Academy seeks to support and connect its 4,000+ members and celebrates and promotes their work. The group honors films and filmmakers each year with the European Film Awards.
“I am truly honoured to be accepted as a European Film Academy (#europeanfilmacademy) member. This is the direct result of years of non-stop work, my sense of responsibility towards my homeland, my family and work.”said Jivan Avetisyan.
“It has been my quest as a filmmaker to talk about my homeland, to represent Artsakh and Armenia, and to help advance Armenian Cinema on the world stage.
I have several film projects in the pipeline that will help pave the road further to even greater success as so much more needs to be done to make a significant difference in ourselves and the world.” said director.
