Yesterday Alexis Ohanyan @alexisohanian celebrated his birthday – an American entrepreneur of Armenian descent known as the co-founder of the Reddit website and an active investor involved in financing more than 50 startups, Forbes magazine called him the “Mayor of the Internet”.
~ Ohanyan was born into a family of refugees who escaped during the Armenian Genocide. He calls himself the “son of an illegal immigrant” and considers his successes a personal victory over the attempts to destroy the Armenian people.

~Alexis Ohanyan actively keeps in touch with his heritage, frequently visits his historical homeland and engages in charitable projects in Armenia.
~ Since his birthday coincides with the Memorial Day of the Victims of the Armenian Genocide, on April 24, Alexis remembers this and shares with his followers on social networks:
“… We are still fighting for recognition of the Armenian Genocide. And we won’t stop. Today is my birthday – living proof that Turkey lost and we as a nation continue to thrive worldwide. Thank you to everyone who survived this before us”
