SUMMER INTENSIVE COURSE OF ARMENIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE

The Association Padus-Araxes is pleased to announce that the Summer Intensive Course of Armenian
Language and Culture, promoted in collaboration with the “Studium Generale Marcianum” of Venice,
will take place from 3rd August to 19th August (19th August exam day).
ARRIVALS: 2 August (check-in); DEPARTURES: 20 August (check-out)
COURSE START: 3 August – COURSE END: 19 August (examination day)
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 30 April.

AGE LIMIT: at least 18 years old (exceptions should be submitted to the Director of the Course).
LESSON SCHEDULE: Four basic levels from absolute beginners to proficient ones;
65 hours of classroom lessons spanned from Monday to Saturday in the mornings. ATTENDANCE
IS COMPULSORY.
FREE AFTER-CLASS cultural and leisure activities take place in the afternoons and evenings.
Attendance is not compulsory. Extra-curricular activities include a guided tour to the Mechitarist monastery
of San Lazzaro, attendance at the Armenian Divine Liturgy in the Armenian church of the Holy Cross,
and in occasion of the feast of the Assumption at the Monastery of San Lazzaro with the traditional
blessing of the grapes, scholarly lectures on Armenian studies (the program will be available in Spring).
ARMENIAN DANCE and DUDUK lessons are planned in the afternoons (the duduk class requires
participants to have their own instrument).
TUITION FEE: € 900,00 (including 65 hours of lessons spanned on 13 days; cultural and leisure
activities, tutorship; educational material; examination certificate).
LODGING FEE (from 2 August to 19 August included – 18 nights):
✓ € 1008,00 per person, in double room.
✓ € 1494,00 in single room.
Services included: AC, WI-FI, en-suite bathroom, bed sheets and towels, kitchenette, room cleaning once
a week with linen change. There is no hairdryer in the room.

Those who have attended the course for at least two summers with a positive result in the final exam,
have a 10% reduction on the tuition fee, which is also applied to their close relatives (parents, siblings,
husband, wife) as well.
FROM 2 AUGUST TO 19 AUGUST INCLUDED (18 NIGHTS), THE ASSOCIATION IS PROVIDING ACCOMMODATION WITH THE
CONDITIONS MENTIONED ABOVE. PER DIEM CALCULATIONS ARE NOT PERMITTED FOR ANY REASON WITHIN THIS
PERIOD. THE STUDENTS HAVE TO ARRANGE ANY OVERNIGHT STAYS OUTSIDE THIS PERIOD ON THEIR OWN.IF YOU
DO NOT NEED ACCOMMODATION, PLEASE LET US KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

The applicant is required to send –
a deposit of € 1000,00 BY 30th APRIL by bank transfer. –
The settlement is due by wire transfer by the 21st JUNE at the latest. You have the option to
pay the settlement in cash on THE DAY OF ARRIVAL (2 August). THIS IS AN
ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL CONDITION FOR THE ACCESS TO THE LODGING AND
THE ATTENDANCE OF THE COURSE.
The amounts paid WILL NOT BE REFUNDED, EXCEPT FOR ASCERTAINED
ILLNESS.
