The actions of the de facto ruling regime in the Republic of Armenia, directed against Armenia’s Declaration of Independence and the constitutional order, have entered a new stage. We are talking about the unlawful persecution of the Armenian Apostolic Church, which has existed for 1,724 years. Every step – from the conscious surrender of Artsakh by the de facto regime to the planned persecutions against the Armenian Church, as well as those yet to come – fits into the strategic objectives of our adversaries aimed at eliminating the Armenian political presence in the region.

The limited capacity of Armenia’s fragmented national political landscape in the face of these blows, reminiscent of the continuous invasions by medieval nomadic hordes, indicates that the Armenian people can rely solely on the consolidation of the potential and efforts of national political, civic, and spiritual forces both within Armenia and throughout the Diaspora.

Seeking strength from external sources instead of relying on our own resources is a vague and uncertain prospect, for it is highly unlikely that any external actor, by violating the current international legal and political status quo, would recognize that the Armenian people today have turned into a “dependent people under the alien subjugation, domination, and exploitation,” as defined by Resolution 1514 of the United Nations General Assembly, adopted in 1960.
