August 23, Yerevan, Armenia – The Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises of Armenia (UATE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Armenian Society of Fellows (ASOF) to advance the 2024 World Congress on Innovation Technology (WCIT2024/DigiTec).
The MoU between UATE and ASOF marks a significant step toward fostering mutual collaboration in the fields of science and technology in Armenia. The agreement outlines a shared commitment to enhancing education and training, with both parties working together to promote these areas. Sargis Karapetyan, CEO of UATE, and Lucineh Kassarjian, Executive Director of ASOF Armenia, signed the memorandum aimed at strengthening Armenia’s position as a leading hub for innovation and technological advancement.
“I am very happy for this opportunity to present Armenian and diasporan academic capacity to foster Armenian tech industry development. Together, we will harness our collective expertise and resources to make WCIT2024/DigiTec a global showcase of innovation, with a special emphasis on education, training, and the promotion of science and technology. This collaboration is key to positioning Armenia as a leader in the global tech industry, and we are confident that our joint efforts will yield remarkable results,”-said Lucineh Kassarjian, Executive Director of ASOF Armenia.
The collaboration includes but is not limited to, the following key areas: promoting science and technology, supporting the delivery of education and training programs based on identified needs, and providing mutual expert support.

WCIT2024/DigiTec will be held from October 4–7, 2024, in Yerevan, at the Karen Demirtchian Complex. The Congress will emphasize the importance of applied sciences, investment, and technological presence in various regions and economies, centered around the headline “THE POWER OF MIND: AI Beyond Limits, Within Ethics.”
Over four days, the event will feature a comprehensive high-level program that includes B2B meetings, the WITSA World Cup (WWC) for scaleups from up to 20 countries, innovation exhibits, business presentations, workshops, and more. Designed to attract thousands of local and international delegates, the Congress offers a diverse agenda catering to various stakeholders. Participants will have the opportunity to explore advanced solutions, best practices, and the latest global ICT developments through interactive seminars and specialized panel discussions.
WCIT2024//DigiTec will survey as a global platform, that aims to:
- Showcase the technological potential of Armenia, and beyond, within the framework of the DigiTec Expo, which will serve as the main expo platform for WCIT2024/DigiTec,
- Strengthen the impact of information technology, raising awareness about innovations and the latest developments in AI,
- Represent Armenia on international platforms and position it as a new technological hub for the region,
- Promote investments and highlight the importance of ICT solutions in various regions and economies.
The conference agenda includes participants from a wide geographic area, with more than 2,000 international delegates expected to visit Armenia during the event.

With up to 80,000 attendees each year, the exhibition serves as a platform to explore global technological trends. DigiTec continues to evolve.
