The European Union has supported Armenia’s newly established Electrical and Torque Calibration Laboratories, together with the Pressure Calibration Laboratory at the National Body for Standards and Metrology, in obtaining international accreditation, the EU Delegation to Armenia announced on 23 March.

“The European Union is proud to have supported the strengthening of Armenia’s National Quality Infrastructure system, contributing to greater competitiveness of local companies and sustainable economic growth,” the Delegation said in a press release, adding that international accreditation will make “essential calibration services more accessible, reliable, and cost-effective for businesses in Armenia”.

The Delegation also said that this progress is “an important step” in the implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), supporting regulatory alignment with EU standards, improving market surveillance, and facilitating the access of Armenian products to international markets.
