Yerevan will join the global Bring Your Own Beamer (BYOB) project f.
The initiative will be organizedby the hosq Cultural Foundation on
November 7 at the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer) is a unique format designed for visual
artists and musicians. It is a one-night, open, and experimental event
where each participant brings their own projector or installation to
present their work to the public – whether in video, animation, visual
or VJ sets, mapping, AR, or other innovative formats.

BYOB events are always immersive, lively, and full of surprises. They
bring artists together in a shared space, transforming it into a
large-scale collaborative installation. This format does not follow
the conventional rules of exhibitions – there are no curators, judges,
or selection process. It is simply a creative field where everyone is
free to present their experiments and exchange ideas with others.

The upcoming edition in Yerevan is initiated by Misak Samokatian, an
artist, musician who has been working in interactive, kinetic, and
audio-visual installations since 2011. His works have been presented
at numerous international festivals and exhibitions, including the
True/False Festival (USA), Burning Man Russia, Moscow Biennale of
Contemporary Art, Winzavod Centre for Contemporary Art (Russia),
Urvakan Festival, Hay Art Cultural Centre, and NPAK (Armenia).

The BYOB initiative was launched in 2010 by artist Rafaël Rozendaal
and has since taken place in cities around the world, including
Berlin, New York, Tokyo, São Paulo, London, and Amsterdam. Now, this
global movement has reached Yerevan.

Applications for participation are open until November 2.
