From October 16 to November 16, the Cabildo of Tenerife hosts a month dedicated to Armenian art, history, gastronomy, and cinema, strengthening the cultural bonds between the two lands.
Tenerife is preparing to experience a unique cultural event: the Armenian Cultural Month in Tenerife, an initiative organized by Public Societies of the Cabildo of Tenerife (Casinos de Tenerife), aimed at bringing the artistic and spiritual richness of Armenia closer to the Canary public.
The program will be inaugurated on October 16 with the exhibition “Armenia in Colors”, which will remain open until November 16 at the Túnel del Arte Exhibition and Conference Hall. The exhibition will feature works by prominent Armenian artists such as Karen Smbatyan, Alexander Grigoryan, Varujan, Aghassi (Poghos Taslakyan), Shmavon Shmavonyan, Gayane Manucharyan, and the legendary Bogdan Hovhannisyan, among other important names of contemporary Armenian culture.
Throughout this month, Tenerife will become a meeting point between two ancient cultures through a diverse program that includes not only art exhibitions but also “Flavors of Armenia”, a gastronomic event dedicated to traditional Armenian cuisine; the “Armenian Cinema” cycle, which combines film screenings with special tastings of Armenian brandy; as well as conferences, talks, and cultural gatherings with artists, academics, and representatives of the Armenian community in Spain.
The project is carried out with the collaboration of La Voz Armenia, which documents and promotes each of the activities of this month dedicated to Armenian cultural heritage. Its main objective is to strengthen the cultural bridges between Armenia and the Canary Islands, celebrating art, creativity, and shared history through painting, music, words, and the senses.
The Armenian Cultural Month in Tenerife invites residents and visitors to immerse themselves in a universe of colors, emotions, and traditions that reflect the deep essence of the Armenian spirit in constant dialogue with the cultural diversity of Tenerife.
